Clients of the Rainbow Foundation’s Day Opportunities service gathered for a special afternoon tea this week, celebrating CEO Caroline Tudor-James’ prestigious invitation to Buckingham Palace’s Garden Party. Caroline attended the garden party alongside her mother, Abigal Tudor, who served as the founding Centre Manager for its first two decades before retiring in 2014. The event marked a significant milestone for the Foundation as it officially launches as an Ageing Well Centre of Excellence for Wales.

The Wrexham 10K saw an incredible display of determination and perseverance this weekend, with 28 Rainbow Runners lacing up their trainers to raise funds for the Rainbow Foundation. Among them was Patricia Downes, a proud graduate of the Changing Habits for Life Programme, who took on the challenge as part of this inspiring team effort to support the foundation’s mission.

Wrexham Charity celebrates Penley’s unique Polish Heritage

Over the last 18months, funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, the Penley Polish Heritage Project has been retracing the roots of those whose families made harrowing journeys to safety after the second world war, capturing some of the unique history and heritage. The project closed with a pop-up exhibition and consultation event, celebrating the arrival and settlement of the Penley Polish community during World War Two.

With one in four individuals experiencing mental health challenges, the Rainbow Foundation is delighted to announce that its Enhanced Social Prescribing service, based in GP practices across Wrexham, has been awarded the title of Best Mental Health Support Service at the Mental Health and Wellbeing Wales Awards. This recognition highlights the team’s impactful work in providing talking therapy and tailored mental health support to individuals and communities.
